5 Ways To Skyrocket Your Revenue With A Killer Business Productivity Schedule
Most entrepreneurs are overwhelmed and have no idea what to focus on in their business to create more revenue without working more.
They jump from task to task, strategy to strategy, without any confidence that what they are spending their precious time on, is actually going to get them more revenue, more sales, more clients.

Here are 5 ways to ensure you get huge results from your time and make your time as efficient and enjoyable as possible with a killer productivity schedule.
1- KNOW YOUR DESTINATION WITH A ‘WHY’ BOOSTER
One of the BIGGEST mistakes I see over and over again is entrepreneurs having their goal as ‘grow my business’.
If you are just trying to ‘grow your business’, then you will NEVER ‘grow your business’ in the way you dream of.
You need to know specifically where you are going so you can make informed decisions on what you need to DO to reach these goals.
If you are trying to ‘grow your business’ then you feel like you need to do EVERYTHING to grow it. But if you are trying to make $30,000 a month in 12 months (and take 50% of it as owner income) and you know by creating that, that it will give you 2 x 5-star family holidays a year, a new car, a beautiful date night with your love every week and only organic food… that’s a motivational and specific amount.
AND more importantly, you can create a PLAN for that.
First, you break it down into monthly targets and then all you need to do is work out how you are going to meet the first 3 months targets (more on that later).
So if I make $2,500 a month now and want to get to $30,000 a month in 12 months, then I need a growth rate of 25.35% and my 1st 3 months targets are:
- Month 1 – $2,500
- Month 2 – $3,134
- Month 3 – $4,923

Now I have 30 days to work out a SPECIFIC plan to boost my monthly sales by 25%. With the next few steps I am going to teach you about eliminating what’s not working and increasing what IS working, you WILL be able to do that easily.
Here is an example so you can see it in action:
You might see that the 6 hours on Instagram a week is NOT producing any traffic or leads, but for every new blog post attached to the Pinterest strategy you have creates 50 new leads a month and from that, you make 2 sales of your $197 program.
SO You Might:
- Only post on IG 1 x per day and stick to 1 hour a week
- You decide to create 8 blog posts instead of 4 for the next couple of months to boost traffic from Pinterest
- Go over your 15 most popular posts and create 3 MORE Pinterest images for each and start pinning those
- Optimize your Blog and messaging so your Lead Magnet converts at a higher rate
- Write a conversion sequence to convert more people who don’t initially buy
- Look at other ways to increase your Pinterest traffic and clicks (tribes/groups etc.)
And you now have a plan for the next 3 months.
The WHY Booster
Having a WHY to your destination is imperative on 2 levels:
- It keeps you motivated and focused doing the things you don’t necessarily LOVE doing (like 2 blog posts a week!)
- It changes your frequency and allows you to attract the ideas and things into your life you are aiming for
From our previous example, we know that when we get to $30,000 a month, we get 2 x 5-star family holidays a year, a new car, a beautiful date night with your love every week and only organic food.
But these things aren’t your WHY.
It’s the WHY of these things you want to explore.
Why DO you want to have 2 x 5-star family holidays a year?
WhyDO you want to drive a new car?
WhyDO you want a beautiful date night with your love every week?
WhyDO you only want to eat organic food?
Once you explore the deeper soul level answers, you will become an attraction magnet and everything you do which currently feels ego-based, selfish or greedy becomes of a higher purpose.
$50,000 a month might feel greedy to you so you repel it and sabotage achieving it.
But a passionate and connected marriage, worldly experiences of kindness and love for your children, memories with your family, a safe, reliable and comfortable car to go on fun connecting trips with your family… now, THESE are worth working for BUT the $50,000 is the vehicle to these higher purpose WHY’S.
- Work out what you want in your life and cost it out
- Work out how much you need to earn monthly to make this happen
- If you take 50% as Owner Income then set your revenue target
- Work out your monthly targets (get the calculator here)
- Create a plan for the next 3 months
2 – DON’T GET ‘SHINY IDEA SYNDROME’ – DO THIS INSTEAD
I have a VERY big problem with MY OWN IDEAS… the one I just came up with is the biggest and best of them all and it sends me down the black hole of ‘shiny idea syndrome’.
Jumping OFF what I’m doing and ONTO the new thing I just thought of… which never really seems to turn into anything other than a LOT of wasted time.
Well, I DID have this problem until I did the 90 Day Year with Todd Herman.
The fact is that as entrepreneurs we are ALWAYS having new ideas and seeing new systems we want to implement but we can’t let it sidetrack us from what we are currently doing.
This extremely simple system changed my life in FOCUS and PRODUCTIVITY.
When you have a NEW idea, write it down on a list.
I know mind blowing huh?
Don’t dismiss this… keep reading.
Now, this isn’t just any old list… it’s a trusted list, in a secure place, that you refer to every 2 weeks and a deeper dive every quarter.
Call it the ‘Catch Zone’
You are catching ideas and strategies and keeping them safe until the time is right to use them.
Know it is there waiting for you when you need it to reach one of your current targets, but it’s not taking up space in your brain or keeping you in fear that you’ll lose it.
Here’s what NOT to do:
- Don’t write it on a scrap piece of paper
- Don’t write it in a current notebook that will get put aside soon
- Don’t try to remember it
- Don’t save it in a random place on your computer or phone
- Don’t write it down and never look at the list
- Do have ONE place for this – a dedicated notebook, an Asana or Trello board, a Note, a Google Docs etc.
- Do pull this out and look at it weekly or fortnightly when you are setting goals or plans for targets
- Do add to the idea with subtasks/notes when they come to you
Simple, yet HIGHLY effective.
3 – 4 QUARTERS EQUALS EXPONENTIAL RESULTS
A 12-month goal, especially if it is ambitious, can be extremely overwhelming.
But a 1-month goal isn’t enough to create a plan and work out the strategy and then have time to see the results of the strategy.
3 months is ‘just right’ and works in well with the financial focus of your business, which we are always tied to in forecasting and tracking results.
Plus small growth and progress EVERY quarter builds to exponential growth over a year or even more over a few years!
Focus all your efforts on what you need to do in the next 3 months to reach your Quarter Goal/s and your future will take care of itself.
This should include the growth revenue targets and any impact or creative goals you have (as long as these creative goals serve a PURPOSE within the business itself).
The simplest way to do this is to:
- Work out your 3-month revenue targets (get the calculator here)
- Brainstorm ideas that will help you reach these targets
- Decide on the minimal projects that have a high chance of success
- Put the rest in your ‘Catch Zone’
- Loosely map out the projects over the next 3 months
4 – WORK IN 2-WEEK SUCCESS PERIODS
When you work in 2-week timeframes, known as Sprints, you become laser-focused on one outcome over that 2 weeks. It allows you to break bigger projects into more manageable outcomes and focus on one (2 max) things at a time.
This was another life changing 90 Day Year element but it’s also included in other performance-based systems like the Sprint in a Scrum Event in the Agile Methodology.
The key question I ask myself is:
What do I need to do achieve in this sprint to ensure I maximize my time and results to reach my Quarter Goal?
This keeps me GOAL FOCUSED and not SHINY IDEA FOCUSED.
It puts the emphasis on making progress towards my goal and not just doing what I want to do… which can prove some resistance at times as what you NEED to do and what you WANT to do can be 2 different things.
This is where having your Why, Your Destination and your Quarter Goal Targets keep you motivated and having them all, compounds to unstoppable motivation.
5 – CREATE A WEEKLY PRODUCTIVITY SCHEDULE
So far we have focused on achieving your goals and changing or adding NEW things to reach these goals.
But there’s also the day-to-day activities that just need to get done to keep your business running.
There are 2 focuses on creating a Weekly Productivity Schedule:
- Schedule in time for your Growth Projects (the ones you have outlined in the previous steps)
- Create an efficient schedule that focuses on the things that get results
It’s too much to go into here but create a system where you constantly analyze what is working and what’s not, in your day-to-day activities.
What tasks are producing results: revenue, leads, sales, results for your clients, testimonials, traffic?
What tasks are taking up precious time and not producing any of the above?
The key is to eliminate, delegate or automate the things that aren’t working or are low-value tasks and do more of the things that are getting massive results.
Once you have your Result Based Tasks, the best way to create a Success Schedule is to have Batch Based Days.
You would create themes around your days and only do specific tasks on those days and batch them together so you can get in the flow and get through a lot more than jumping from task to task with different programs/applications/parts of the brain.
Here are some Theme examples to help you:
- Content (Blog / Social Media / Podcasts / Graphics / Video)
- Finances (Finance Fridays are a popular one!)
Allocate your selected Theme Days to your weekly schedule and only do the tasks associated with that on the allocated day.

Then schedule in your Growth Project time that is UNTOUCHABLE so you don’t get caught up in the day-to-day and forget the things that are going to produce the results you want.
There you have it.
After doing 1 or ALL of these mini-systems, you will have a kick-ass goal-crushing system that will skyrocket your business, revenue, income and life experiences.
